Travel and accommodation

The meeting will take place at the Whistler Conference Center in Whistler, BC, Canada. Whistler is located about 100 km north of Vancouver, BC, in the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains in the province of British Columbia, Canada.
There is easy access to the adjacent mountains, and are ample opportunities for ski and other winter activities. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Whistler hosted most of the alpine, Nordic and bobsled events.

The meeting will be held at the Rainbow Theater at the Whistler conference center. We have reserved a block of rooms at the nearby Aava Hotel (an easy walking distance from the conference center; see maps here and here). Details on how to reserve a room at the hotel will soon follow.

Getting to Whistler:
The easiest way to get to  Whistler is to fly into Vancouver international airport (YVR). From YVR, there are shuttles to Whistler (55 CAD$). Tourism Whistler generated a website for shuttle reservations: https://www.whistler.com/delegates/biophysics/ be sure to use the Delegate Discounted Transfers tab.
Note that shuttles operate only until 11pm, and note the longer wait time for flights arriving after 8pm, so plan accordingly!

One could also rent a car at YVR, but note that parking in Whistler is costly (~20 $CAD per night), and the village is set up for pedestrians. All the restaurants, trails and ski lifts within an easy walking distance from the hotel and conference center.
